just to introduce myself

Im tony ,just started here last week.I had modified my diet at the beginning of last year.I cut out red meats(an ocassional barbecue),cut out the mayo completely,introduced whole wheat rice,and whole wheat pasta(1 a month) tried cutting out the cheese but thats a hard one for me but i cut out a good amount,whole wheat bread ,i use greek yogurt as my dairy,no soft drinks ,a glass of wine here and there.60 minutes in the pool 3-4 time a week,10 to 15 miles on the bike 3-4 times a week ,alternating with the swim.Lost 20 pounds,now im going in for the kill my goal is another 20.
Oh i also wrote down everything i ate(much easier with this program).My blood sugar normalized,my blood pressure medication was cut in half.My dr says that if i get another 20 lbs off he will take me off the blood pressure medication.
It is so much better when you write down what you eat,you come to realize that you do eat alot more than you need.
My rule of thumb is: fruit everyday,vegetables everyday,8 glasses of water every day.no snacking,swimm everyday if i can.

    You are doing great! Best of luck and I know you will enjoy this site and community. I have learned so much with the message boards and I just scan once in awhile. Good Luck!

    Welcome, awesome, try using Quinoa instead of rice.
    It is a grain, not rice. It cooks up just like rice but
    it is a complex carbohydrate which does not
    store to fat..

    Welcome to MFP!
    I still struggle with foods, but being on this site is helping me a lot. Some days when I know I've messes up I want to not record what I ate, but I have to be held accountable and I'm not foolin anyone but myself.
    So I hope you find lots of friends and have fun!
