On my way!

I just wanted to post an encouragement to anyone struggling with weight loss on here.
7 months ago, just before I turned 36, I stepped on my scale and it read 405.4 lbs. I could always say "at least I'm not as big as my dad." Well, Dad had to start losing weight for his health and it wasn't long before he passed me on the way down. That combined with my own sleep apnea and some other health problems was the wake up call I needed. I have 3 boys and I want to be around for them as long as possible. It was time to get healthy. THAT is my goal, to get healthy, not necessarily lose weight. The weight loss is a welcome side effect.
Since last July, I have only eliminated sugary drinks and limited my calorie intake to under 2900 per day. Most days it stays under 2500 calories. I keep track by simply writing down what I eat in MFP.
Just doing this, I have maintained a steady average weight loss of 10lbs per month. I am down 70lbs from where I started and I don't see any reason I won't be able to meet my goals. I hope to be down 100 pounds by my next birthday and if I can keep up the 10lbs per month pace, I will be under 300 lbs for the first time in over 15 years.
If I can do it, so can you.
