How can I record my daily steps? I typically average between 10,000-20,000 steps daily depending on my schedule.

I would take away however many steps you get out of exercise, and use that number to set your activity level in your goals. MFP will give you a calorie goal based off of your daily activity. Then log any extra exercise you do besides your regular stepping.
Or get a Fitbit/other tracking device and let it do all the number crunching for you.1 -
If you consistently get about the same number of steps in your daily routine, then I would set the activity level in MFP to “active” or “very active.” I would start with “active” and see what your weight does. Depending on how your weight responds, you might need to adjust your activity level up or down. Just be sure that if you change your activity level, you don’t also “double count” your steps as exercise.0
