Spine Surgery Recovery

Options
Recovering from surgery can be hard. Losing the weight you gained from before and after the surgery is hard too.

I'm recovering from my fourth spine surgery in three years. Before my surgeries, I was active. I walked all the time. I ate reasonably healthily. I was in good shape.

After four years of spine-related pain, recovery, and all the things that go along with that, I'm finally ready to get back to my healthy self. I've still got a ways to go, both from a weight and pain perspective, but I am on the path again.

Anyone else headed in that direction?

I hope your recovery goes well! After my second back surgery (double fusion) I gained a lot of weight. I spent a year in bed waiting to have my hardware removed. I've slowly lost most of the weight since and returned to MFP last month to lose the rest. It has been almost 11 years since my last surgery. If you're looking for another "spiny" to cheer you on, feel free to add me as a friend. Good luck on your recovery.
