Well your title suggests that you have one of the most important things you need, that being a realistic expectation. Losing weight and getting into better shape takes some patience, discipline and time, along with some motivation.
There is loads of information on the forums, and the more you post, the better chance of finding people to friend that fit better with you and your goals. I personally think that for someone new to this, any time you are feeling that it can't work, browse through the Success Stories section. Quite a few of those people may have doubted themselves as well, but made it work.1 -
