Struggling

I have been loosing weight for an entire year. 58 lbs and I have never felt better.
I have thyroid issues and it’s apparent they need to adjust my meds.
I have gained 20 lbs in a month.
This happened the first time I found out I had hypothyroidism.
I’m just so majorly depressed.
I worked so hard to get here and wasn’t even at my goal weight.
I’m not back up 20 lbs and I want to give up

Giving up won't help anything, it will just make things worse.
You know you can lose weight. So work with your doctor to get your levels adjusted, and then get back on track. That's really all you can do. There are lots of people here who have dealt with thyroid issues and I'm sure they'll be along with personal experience. I'm sorry your struggling :flowerforyou: Congrats on your success so far, you are still ahead of the game, and you can get back on track!6 -
With your thyroid, it's really unlikely most of this is fat gain. You've got fluid issues and everything else going on. And you KNOW that it's messing with your emotions. Talk to your doctor. You can get this under control. It's complicated - but get back on track. You can do this.5

Don't despair.. You need to stay strong through all of this and don't give up! Your Thyroid issues will be hard to deal with I'm sure, but you can do it! What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger 😊0

I have hashimotos and when I flare I retain an insane amount of water until my levels are corrected. There is a good chance a lot of what you gained if fluid from inflammation. Definitely get with your doctor soon to adjust your meds and get your hormone levels healthy1

Yeah, 20 lb in a month is not fat gain. Even when I went completely off the rails and had a series of emotional eating binges one week, once the fluid fluctuations stabilised I'd only gained a couple of pounds. So unless you've been mainlining cake until you feel ill every day for the last month, you'll find that the final 'damage' is much less than you currently fear!4
