Is it ok that I miss nachos and chicken wings?

There is a commercial for the Harvey Brooker program here in toronto where the spokesman scoffs at the thought he would miss nachos or wings because not eating those things helped him lose and keep off the weight that was "killing him".

Now I'm not doing Harvey Brooker, I'm on Optifast.. I'm doing well, I'm not eating wings or nachos, but god damnit I miss them. If I see nachos on tv I sure as hell wish I was eating them.

So my question is, if I'm missing the naughty foods that are "killing me" and not scoffing at the idea that I would miss it, does that mean I'm not as committed to this process as maybe i should be?

ha. I don't think so. When I first started weight loss I got irritated on this site when people talked about food.

I had to get over it though. People talk about food. There are ads everywhere.

One thing that helped is that I got rid of cable tv. If it's not on Netflix I don't see it. No commercials!

IMO there's nothing wrong with missing nachos or wings. There's nothing wrong even with eating those things. You're not going to be on Optifast your whole life. Part of healthy weight loss is developing a healthy relationship with food. I still have cheeseburgers and fries from time to time. I just make it fits within my goals.

I don't know that Harvey Booker guy is but I don't very much feel like I want to or need to listen to him on this.
