Calorie deficit on Keto?

For those doing Keto or know of Keto, are you also on a calorie deficit? How many calories do you usually aim for? Another question I have is, is it true that sodium intake should be higher on Keto? My body is very sensitive to sodium but I read that more sodium is needed on Keto. My apology if my information is incorrect, lol I’m just starting Keto again and learning as I go. Thanks for any responses.

Keto works the same as other diets. You need to be on a calorie deficit on it to lose weight. If you eat at or over your maintence, you won't lose weight.
I do not do Keto, so I don't know for sure about the sodium, but I have seen that said here that Keto requires higher sodium.10 -

what he said.
There's a kid here where i work who does keto. He lectures me on it all the time. According to him you DO need a bunch more sodium like tablespoon of salt per day kind of thing. He also said you need to make sure you supplement with magnesium and potassium.
Good luck!
And PS - you don't actually NEED to Keto to lose weight. Unless you enjoy eating a gigantic amount of fat and almost zero carbs. Carbs are not evil and do not make you fat. Eating too much is what makes you fat.11 -
I lost 2-3 lbs a week on 1500 kcal a day. I had 40lbs to lose and was inactive. I find I lose a bit faster when carbs are low.
Most need 3000-5000 mg of sodium a day to replace what you lose with water weight. 2300 mg sodium = 1 tsp salt.2 -
