PLEASE MAKE THE DATABASE FILTERABLE FOR OFFICIAL ENTRIES!
All whole food entries should be asterisk free, easy to find, and you should be able to enter quantities in multiple formats.
You already have the data. Just let me find the entries without jumping through hoops! Entering a yellow bell pepper shouldn't involve wizardry or Tom****Harry's made up nutritional data.
TYVM.
Also, bring back the peach entry. I have been advised it's missing.

Amen to putting the generic entries at the top of search results every time, or finding some other way to make it easy to go right to those.0
-
Seconded. This would be very helpful.
Also I'd add that it would be really nice to be able to edit quantities in the recipe builder.0 -

Peach isn't missing. I have found small peach, georgia peach, and organic peach in the database. Also isn't the database created and confirmed by members?0

Some of the entries have been checked against the USDA database. Those entries are much more accurate than the user-entered data, and they do not have an asterisk next to them. What we'd like is to be able to only view those entries, so it would be easier to find the accurate entries.0 -

There are "official" entries that are MFP created for most whole foods (and maybe some other things). They're differentiated by not having an asterisk in front of the entry. They typically contain complete nutritional info, aren't able to be edited by any jackhole who prefers seeing "net carbs" or whatever, and have multiple entry formats. See "Spinach - Raw" for an example- can be entered in quantities of "100 g, 1 bunch, 1 leaf, 1 10-oz package, 1 cup"0 -
Type in "Peaches, raw" and you'll get the non-*'d version with several choices.0

there are so many incorrect user-submitted food entries in the database, that i find it easier, faster, and more accurate for me to create my own entries for every new food. however, i don't share them with the rest of the site because that's precisely why the food database got so screwed up in the first place.
i would suggest that the preview pane for each selected food item from the database include more than just the serving size. it should include a summary of the major macros for that selected food item, so that it can be easily checked for accuracy before "adding" it to the food diary. i used to add foods, look at the diary, see that the numbers were wrong, delete that entry, and then re-start the search process. since i'd usually have to go through this process several times until i found an actual correct user-submitted food, that i no longer bother. i just make my own.
however, if MFP upgraded the preview pane for each food so you could see whether it was accurate BEFORE adding it to your diary, it would save everyone a lot of time. if there isn't a way to flag incorrect user-submitted foods, there should be.0 -

I admit I didn't actually check the peach thing before posting it. A couple of my friends commented that it went missing.0 -
I'd like to be able to mark things as "favorites". The recent or frequent tabs don't work for me. Just because I ate it once or twice doesn't mean it's something that I eat over and over again. I'd like my own list that I can add to and delete from. If this exists and I'm just missing it, please let me know0

You can delete the ingredient and re-add it at the new quantity.0 -

It's a pain in the a** to find the official entries just tell them to try with and without an s. A lot of times that will bring them up.0 -
This is one of about 100 great suggestions that they just don't implement, but it's pretty darned close to the top of the "we need this" list.0

I have a PM asking me to include the suggestion that these foods are included as "favorites" that you can add with one-click, and that your past foods are able to be added with one-click, similar to importing a previous meal.
Basically, that there is just generally more support for one-click adding of foods you've previously chosen.0 -

Oh god yes. Once you've found something difficult it tends to be a real pain to find it again.0 -

Love you Bean

yes! since anyone can put anything in, which is a VERY nice feature of this site, we still desperately need the official USDA info for raw foods to be at the top of a search for them. It is my number one complaint about this site.0 -
It's an exceedingly simple piece of code.0

For me it's not just quantities, but the ability to change the type of measurement (from cup to tbsp to ml to g to kg, etc.,etc.). It's the one thing this app doesn't have that a previous app I used did and it was invaluable. I've lost count of how many times I have to do conversions and some of them just aren't that accurate.0

I would really like this ability as well0 -
