Hi everyone.

My name is Alyssa, I'm 30 and from NY and I am relatively new here. I've joined myfitnesspal before a long time ago and decided to check back in on it. My weight has really gotten out of control and I am really very eager to make a change. I've joined Beachbody and I'm starting in on the workouts, eating healthier; cutting out all junk food.

They say that the road to weight loss is easier when you have people that will support you, motivate you and walk with you. So I'm looking for people that will do that. I want to make a goal to walk everyday. Whether it's on a machine at the gym or around the neighborhood or at the park...Wherever...Who wants to walk with me? Friend me if you're interested.

I read your post...saw you joined BeachBody too.

Diet will help you lose most of the weight. Focus on what you eat. Knocking 500 cal. per day out of your diet will help you lose 1 pound per week. Exercise will also help with weight loss, but less so. To burn 500 calories when you are first starting out can be really grueling. It is still grueling when you are in decent shape.

As for BeachBody (BB)...when first starting out, HIT THE PAUSE BUTTON and give yourself a breather. When they say recover - HIT PAUSE - Recover. The hard bodies in the videos all collapse at the end of each set, so don't kill yourself.

Also - I found that doing the BB workouts 6 days a week was too much, too soon, when I first started out. I backed off to every other day and was much happier. It took twice as long, but recovery days were definitely needed for my formerly big butt.

    Good luck!
