One Year Down!

So it's been a year! I'm not at goal, I haven't logged every day, and I've only lost about 10 pounds since the first of the year, but I'm still damn proud of myself. I didn't start with a health scare or anything like that, I was just tired of being fat, and my wife had found this amazing tool. And my pride wouldn't let her get smaller than me!
I remember taking these first pictures and almost crying when I saw them. I had no idea I was that big. I'm pretty sure we all have felt like that at some point.
I still have a lot of work to do, and have been having a tough time lately sticking with it on the weekends, especially when I get drunk. I'm trying to motivate my *kitten* to get back with it hard core and meet my goal of 155 by my 5th anniversary (yes, I realize this is an almost unattainable goal, but I'm still gonna try!) While I look at my stomach and cringe, I look at my legs are are so proud! The weights have been really helping them; I have definition on the outside of my thighs that I remember as a kid seeing on my dad (and avid runner) and him telling me I should give up ever having them because I'm a woman! HA! (It also helps that I store very little weight on my thighs)
I'm hoping this next year will bring me to my goal weight, lifting more, actually running (not the jogging/limping thing I call running), and learning to think I'm pretty. (Also using less parenthesis in posts)
Oh, and I'm 5'3.5"

Whoa! Amazing difference, way to go! You look fantastic. And I'm pleased to learn you're working on self image too. It's so important. Also, 10 pounds may not sound like a lot but you can lose a lot of size with just a few pounds.0

Nice job! I understand the reaction to seeing yourself in pictures. I don't have an "after" pic yet, but I look at current pictures of myself and think, "How did I let this happen?"
Anyway, I'm going to add you and I'd love to keep up with your progress. Very inspirational!0 -
Might as well work on it all at once, huh, chicka? You'll do fine. Hell, I've been battling mine since I was a small kid. S'worth the fight though0
