Exercise Calories

I ran a 5k today and received over 200 extra calories and my remaining calories were over 1000. As the day goes on and I do regular steps, my extra calories are going down and my remaining calories are going down. Can someone explain why this is happening? Thank you!

It’s to do with the activity level you have set and so say you chose ‘lightly active’ it assumes that by say 10am you should have done 3,000 steps. If you’ve done your 5k run by then you’ll have gone over, maybe by 50% for example. But then if the rest of the day is less active then the number of steps you have done will gradually catch up with the number that MFP expects you to have done by that time of day at your specified level of activity.1
