Trying to lose weight

Today is my first 30 days of really trying to lose weight and I am proud of myself for that. I’m struggling to lose weight though, I’ve lost not even 6 pounds working out everyday and eating 1500 calories under maintenance calories I don’t understand what’s going on. I have a little over a hundred pounds to lose total. Ty for any advice

Are you weighing your food with a food scale? If not, do so and be diligent about it for two weeks. If you're 100 pounds overweight, weight would be falling off of you at 1500 calories per day. You're not tracking accurately.

Is the workout routine new at the start of the 30 days, too? Lots of us see extra water retention when we start a new workout routine, and it can mask some fat loss on the scale for a while. Six pounds in a month is a pretty good rate; I'd say stick with it for a bit longer, and see what shakes out.

Outside of nonsense like "Biggest Loser", there's no prize for fast weight loss **, and there's definitely a penalty for too-fast weight loss: Weakness and fatigue in the shorter run, potentially more serious things longer term. I lost too fast accidentally for a while (MFP underestimated my calorie needs), and it took several weeks to recover normal energy and strength. You don't want that.

If you're truly eating 1500 calories under maintenance, you should be seeing loss. Some potential pitfalls that could interfere with results are:

    * Estimating intake inaccurately (common causes: not using a food scale; picking inappropriate entries from the crowd-sourced MFP food database; forgetting "minor" items like beverages, cooking oils, condiments, tastes/licks, relying on inaccurate weight estimates from prepackaged foods; unlogged "cheat days" that wipe out big chunks of deficit; frequent reliance on calorie estimates (such as from restaurants) that may be inaccurate if busy staff are extra-generous with helpings or use of oils and such).

    * Estimating exercise inaccurately (common causes: exercise machines are often wrong; the MFP database is better for some & worse for others so caution is advised; believing a heart rate monitor for things it's bad at estimating (especially intervals, HIIT, or strength training).

** Someone who is severely obese may need to lose weight very fast for the sake of their health. That may involve a very low calorie diet (VLCD), and should only be undertaken with personalized medical advice and close medical supervision.

I was 60lbs over weight at 220ish when I started after Christmas. About 70 days in down 30. First month was the quickest at 15ish. You aren’t properly logging food.
