Time to make a change

Hi everyone!
I can't actually remember how many times I've started this journey. I just about console myself with the fact I haven't given up completely and I do keep trying. I'm 40 in 2 months time I have 4 kids and a granddaughter, I was drinking too much as in everyday I ate whatever I wanted and took no care of my appearance. I was the guy who would have a hair cut and a shave for the Xmas party and then let it slip again for the rest of the year. I'd say I'm upto my neck in debt but its more like way over my head, so as you can see it's Time to make a change.
I'm reading a book by James Clear called Atomic Habits, its a great read and has given me some great insight into techniques for creating good and end bad habits. So here I am now trying to implement some of what I'm learning.
My plan for the moment is to log what I eat completely and honestly and then try and tackle the bad choices and replace them with better ones. In terms of exercise I've started cycling to work (I don't drive anyway) and the incentive here is to save the money I'd spend on commuting which is good because I actually enjoy it. For the the gym is stronglifts 5x5 and c25k.
So that's my plan for now, I hope to make some friends so that I can offer and receive support and this time I plan to make the changes stick. Good luck to everyone.
