I have MFP set to lose 2 pounds per week but it’s moving much slower than that. I’m 3 months postpartum, breastfeeding, and training for a half marathon. Seeing MAYBE a pound a week but am hesitant to go any lower with cals because I am breastfeeding.
I do weigh all my food, run 5 days per week, and lift weights 3x per week.
Any insight about what I can do would be appreciated!

If you only have 10 pounds to lose, 2 pounds a week is too aggressive. That should really only be used by people with a lot of weight to lose. Honestly even 1 pound per week is pretty aggressive for your weight. You would be better off targeting half a pound a week and going slow. Especially if you are training for a half marathon and breast feeding. Your body needs the fuel.18

Stop being so impatient and set more realistic goals for yourself.21

I didn’t consider that it might be an aggressive goal. But you are right, I do need the fuel. Thank you for the insight!!6 -
With so little to lose I'd be aiming for .5lb a week. That's what I'm currently doing to get rid of some vanity maintenance weight. I've steadily hit that since the beginning of January and at this point I'm close to my goal-those .5lbs add up quick And since my deficit isn't extreme I can still function as a normal human being lol.
Also, remember that you'll have a maintenance range, not a set number. That's because you have normal bodily functions that cause the scale to fluctuate a bit. Most people chose a 3lb-5lb range.7 -

You're basically asking your body to do a ton of super difficult things all at once. You created a small human, it takes more than 3 months for your body to recover from that. And if you push too hard, you are risking losing your milk supply. Most women here eat their maintenance calories and let the extra energy required for breastfeeding to create their calorie deficit. Please take care of yourself12

As someone who had a baby recently (ish) I completely understand how it’s easy to become desperate to lose the baby weight immediately, but it’s most important to do it slowly and safely so it’s healthy and stays off. I found with just eating at maintenance, breastfeeding, and working out 3-4 days a week (resistance training in my case) I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight relatively easily and actually continued to lose slowly without much effort until I stopped breastfeeding at 8 months and ended up 10 lbs lighter than when I got pregnant. The breastfeeding-created deficit was very real for me. Just take it easy on yourself but remain consistent and it will happen. Good luck! Soon enough you will have your figure back and have a 1 year old demanding you read them the same book for the 27th time today like I do right now.8

Agreed with most comments above. You're still in what my obgyn called the "4th trimester" which is the 3 or 4 months following delivery. After my second child I did WW and got back to my prepregnancy weight of 110lbs by the time he was about 9 or 10 months old. Give yourself a year if you have a lot. If you're only needing the last 10 to come off already (Which is excellent btw!) then give yourself close to 2 months if not more.2

Thank you all for the encouragement and advice! It is hard to be so close but want that last weight but I know that healthy is best. Thank you all for reminding me that where I’m at is okay and that it may be best to go slower for health ❤️6
