Hello my name is Diane, and I am new to my fitness pal. I found this website one day when searching for nutritional values in food. I was keeping a log on a spreadsheet. I used this tool faithfully for a few weeks, and then thought, I'll just keep up with it in my head - not a smart choice. Last year, I was hospitalized 12 times. One of the last times, I had an amazing Cardiologist. He looked and me and knew exactly what needed to be done. It was a lengthy hospital stay with low sodium diet, fluid restrictions and dirueses. Results were 63 liters of fluid ...gone... and weight loss of 63 lbs. Went from size 22 to a size 12, almost a 10 but not quite. It is a challenge to follow a restrictive diet but I would rather do that than the consequences of not following it. Dr. said, I had been on fluid over load for years and was inadequately medically treated - at least until I met him. I will always be thankful and so grateful.
