Beyond frustrated...

I feel improvement.. I see improvement.. my scale isn't moving.. what gives?? I'm almost to the point of tossing it.. is it possible to cut body fat and maintain weight at the same time?? My measurements are reducing.. I've lost over 10cms on my waist.. almost 2 on my thighs.. and 1.5 on my upper arms.. I've been measuring problem areas. I'm trying to get down to the weight my doctor told me to aim for.. but at this rate it's never gonna happen.

why does it matter about the scale if you can see and feel improvements?

I plan on having a tubal reversal soon and I'm in the obese category.. doc doesn't feel comfortable with it and gave me a Target that feels impossible..

if you're losing inches, the scales will catch up eventually. how long has the scale not moved for?

It's been about 3 weeks.. I just really want to be safely out of the 200s.. and it's so annoying because I'm right at the 200 mark. I'm 5'5" for what that's worth..

Are you eating at a calorie deficit? Weighing and measuring your intake and crunching the numbers? Keeping a food diary?

If the improvements you’re seeing are earned at the gym, the gym is the place for body recomposition. But weight loss is mostly in the kitchen. Doing both at the same time can be very slow.

You hanging in there and you be encouraged because it’s not about weight all the time. The weight is going to come off but you were building muscle I guarantee it and that is heavier then you think. I think the fact that you are so motivated and reaching out is so encouraging. You do not want to drop weight superfast anyway. It’s just not healthy for you. Take some meditation moments today and remind yourself of how wonderful you are and what a magnificent day you’re going to have!

I don't go to the gym.. I only do a form of dance workout at home.. along with crunches.. in a wide variety.. modified pushups.. I can't really do a true pushup cause I haven't done them since a car accident in 2007.. but maybe one day I will be able to. Anyway.. I go for walks some days.. not everyday.. I log my foods into mfp almost everyday.. I may skip a day once a or twice a month.. I'm still conscious of how much I eat tho. Id like to start jogging.. but 1. I'm so self conscious about doing in public.. 2. I have asthma.. 3. I have my son with me all the time.. he's 5.. but Everytime we go to the park he only cooperate for a few minutes then wants to play.

Keep trying. There’s a calorie counting learning curve that doesn’t get much discussion. All these calculators give the impression that we can run our bodies like machines. We aren’t machines. There are bound to be calorie counting gray areas.

Give it some more time. But if you don’t start seeing a downward trend, experiment with a modest calorie cut. But you have to be able to live with it. Try to resist the temptation to resort to something drastic.

Calorie counting works. Sometimes it requires a bit of tinkering with the numbers. The calculators are based on statistics and averages, but no one is exactly average. Keep trying. You’ll get it.
