Hey guys, so this week finally started into my strength training classes at the gym - learning proper technique and actually working my muscles, just looking for some suggestions from people on here regarding diet....to get maximum benefit from this training i need to be a bit more strict on my macros
Guess just looking for ideas of what would be a good thing to eat in the evening a few hours after strength training, also what is good for muscle recovery?
Thank you.

PROTEIN. A lot of it.
Cottage Cheese, either sweet or savoury - I like it with berries, my bf likes it with tahini sauce. Really great because you can eat it no matter how exhausted you are (meaning straight from the tub)
Chicken (any way you want to cook it but be wary of adding too much fat)
Steak (go low on sauces)
Whey. I like Canadian Protein strawberry flavour. Also no prep time.0 -

I second this! Just keep your protein up.0 -
I eat an apple or any slow digesting carb before and some gummie bears and whey protein after True Story0

Agree with those who say "protein". I have an easy to mix delicious protein shake standing at my locker right after (I think I can actually hear my muscles soaking it in)
Then I shower, go home and eat protein and veggies of some sort. Usually chicken, but if I am spoiling myself it's steak night!

thanks for the replies...so lots of protein kind of figured it was the main nutrient to be aware of, going to have to try up my grams of it.0

Go for (whatever your weight is in lbs) grams of protein a day at least.
Also forgot to mention greek yoghurt and eggs (esp. egg whites).0 -
Shed load of protein, chicken is cheap and can be bought by the bucket loads, (skinless) grill it.
if you cant get your protein by food, think about supplements.0 -
