I don't believe there is a magic number, but it is certainly possible to exercise too much. I shoot for 30 minutes of vigorous exercise 4-5 days per week. I also like to walk about an hour every day.0

For cardio, about an hour a day is plenty. I don't think there is a specific number on how many calories is safe to burn because that is dependent on a variety of factors.0

Depends on the person... their genetics, their caloric intake, amount of sleep, etc.
There is no 1 number.0 -

This boils down to how active you have been before. One person's 10 mile run will be too much for a non-runner, but it would be easy-peasy for a person who has been training in ultra-running for a while.
If somebody who had never run before were to suddenly jog off down the road and not return until two hours and ten miles later, that could be considered as a tad over the top. Or somebody cycling off for a 50 mile bike ride when they have not sat on one for 25 years, may find they have slightly aching legs afterwards lol.
Build up gradually in whatever activity you are doing and ensure you have rest days, that way you will not overtrain and are taking as much care as you possibly can against injury.0 -

It depends on what kind of exercise you do and how used you are to exercising.
I used to burn 700 kcals doing 40 mins of stationary bike, but now I feel just as tired by running 30 mins and burning 400 kcals.
I don't really think you would ever need to burn something like 1000 kcals a day, you would have to eat them all back anyway, but it depends on how many calories you can eat in a day0 -
Set fitness goals that are independent of calorie burn and you'll be a lot better off. Use your diet for your weight loss deficit...it's built right in with MFP...exercise for your fitness. Setting independent fitness goals will tell you how you should be exercising...what you should be doing...how much and how often. There is not magic number, it all depends on your fitness goals.0
