Discrepancies!

As I’ve stated before I’m new to all this. Now my iPhone so far today has logged my steps as 6,713. But my Fitbit has logged my steps as 8,700.
How accurate are these Fitbits or am I best getting another activity tracker?

I have found my Fitbit to be more accurate than my iPhone. It still has its moments, though. Like it will give me credit for stairs I haven't climbed or it will miss steps that I did take. Overall, though, I'd say it's pretty accurate. I've been wearing one for almost 4 years.0

I find my Fitbit accurate. The only problem is if you are pushing a shopping cart or a buggy it will not count your steps.0

Do you have your phone on you 100% of the time?
I know that I do not carry my phone all the time. When at home it usually sits on the table by the couch. This means it misses all the steps I take cleaning, playing with my kids, and so on. My activity tracker on the other hand only comes off to charge or when I take a shower. I used a Fitbit from 2013 - 2018 and found it to be accurate for me (well up until I got the Ionic in 2018 which mine had tons of issues and the CS wasn’t helpful so I switched to Apple Watch. My previous experiences with their CS were great, but the lack of support for their $300 Watch was disappointing.)

I would trust an activity tracker over a phone, especially when you don't necessarily have your phone with you 100% of the time.0

How do u find the Apple Watch?
I love it. It does everything my Fitbit Ionic was supposed to do and more. A lot of the smart watch features on the Ionic never worked right for me and constantly having to reset it became more of an annoyance than anything. I haven’t had any trouble with the Apple Watch other than it doesn’t sync right with MFP, but that’s been a known issue for awhile now. It’s a bit of a bummer, but there are work around for that or other apps that will work. Sleep tracking isn’t one of Apple Watches default features, but there are apps you can get for that. I charge mine at night though since the battery life isn’t as long as Fitbit’s and sleep tracking isn’t really a must have for me anyway.0 -
You can wear your Fitbit on your non-dominant wrist yet tell it that you are wearing it on your dominant wrist in order to cut back a little on accidental step counting eg from cutting veggies etc0

Oh thanks I never thought of that0
