Left Lane of the Highway

Depends on where you live.
In Texas it's Pass only.3 -

If there is more than one lane, slower traffic definitely should stay right.2
-
Fast lane2

I should add, I don’t live in the US so I only know what it’s like where I visit frequently.1

If you're not passing stay yo lane - yo lane being the above mentioned left lane
ETA - sheesh right lane - right lane is yo lane excuse the mistake1 -
The left lane is strictly for mooning purposes5

Nobody where I’m from follows that law. Not like the cops pull you over for that, but they’re quick to pull you over for anything else.0

Passing lane. You will get pulled over here if you are cruising in the left lane and impeding traffic as it provides for unsafe driving conditions.

It's supposed to be a passing lane here as well, but most people use it as a fast lane, and a few others use it for a leisurely "Sunday drive" lane.1

Passing lane. However, any male I've ever driven with is of the understanding that the right lane is for those driving up to and including the speed limit, the left lane is for those who want to drive above the speed limit. They refer to it as the "race lane".0

Fast lane, but if I'm in it and someone faster is behind me, I get out of their way.3

Driving on the freeway here in Arizona, it's slowly swerve around the left lane, with one's left turn-signal permanently set, with the cruise control rooted to an unwavering Thirteen Miles Per Hour.
A poof of blue hair and age-spotted, candy grabbers firmly planted at ten & two on the steering wheel are the only things visible over the headrest.

Me too - just good manners yo0 -
I think of it as both, fast and pass.
What I dont think is a "pass or fast" is the left 'lane' (the middle coming up to a left turn lane with solid yellow lines before the actual left turn lane starts, (with broken dashes)) that so many mother-*kitten* idiots drive up in on my way to work making it terrifying to pull into the actual lane when I'm ahead of them trying to obey the rules while they speed up behind me in the 'no drive' designated portion of the road0 -
Passing.....i drive a dump truck for a living, so I see that majority of people do not know how to drive. I'm not even going to get started. Lol 🤣🤣🤣0

yes, exactly.0 -
Should only be used for passing but 99% of the population views it as an extra lane.1
-
It would be the fast lane, because you would also be passing in it. Or the passing lane as you are going fast in it.1

In Colorado it’s considered the fast lane but some people don’t seem to get that.😩0

This has been going around FB all week. In Colorado it's actually the passing lane.

I would love to live in a place where we had the luxury of the left lane being the passing lane but usually the left lane just ends up being the left side of the parking lot.0

So I consider it a fast lane, but my definition of a fast lane makes it a passing lane.
Like, you should only be in that lane if you are going faster than the cars in the right/center lane. Therefore, you are passing them. It's just not one pass at a time, it's just hang out in that lane as long as you are going faster than (and thus passing) the cars to your right.
And if someone is faster behind you, congratulations you are the slower one move right.3 -
It’s opposite down under but the principle is the same. There’s a motto here “keep left” they teach when learning to drive. The right lane is for overtaking or for allowing Emergency Services to floor it. You can get fined for staying in the right lane for too long with no purpose.1
