stressful day

So, I had a very stressful day today. In meetings with Human Resources, CFO and CEO of the hospital where I work. I had to terminate one of my employees and it wasn't pretty. Was really stressed-ate a lot of Almond Joy pieces (probably shouldn't keep them in my desk). Totally blew my calories for day and I haven't even eaten dinner yet. Good thing, though, I walked/jogged 3 miles on treadmill after work. Trying to redeem myself. Tomorrow is a new day!

It's just one day. You offset it with some exercise, and tomorrow is a new day. If you eat slightly less tomorrow, or over the rest of the week, you can make up for that over consumption today (if the exercise didn't already account for it).0

I wouldn't even worry about eating less the rest of the week. Forgive yourself. Eat a healthy dinner so you don't get hungry tonight. And tomorrow, get rid of the candy of you feel a lack of control with it around.
The good news is you've identified a trigger (stress) so now you can come up with alternative ways to handle it.
Take care of yourself, forgive yourself, and focus on the positive. You got this!0 -
Stressful days happen. Like someone mentioned above. At least you know your triggers. Stress has always been a big eating trigger for me. Toss out those Almond Joys and replace them with something healthy and sweet, like raisins, cheerios, granola, ect. If you're worried about compensating for the day, eat a light dinner, like a yummy salad. But don't try to compensate for the rest of the week. In fact, don't even WORRY about today for the rest of the week. Because tomorrow, today will be "Yesterday". You can get up in the morning, breathe and smile, and start all over again.0
