Cooking

Ugh, does anyone else hate cooking? I made a pot of soup today. Cooked up some hamburgers, because I had a pound of beef that needed to be cooked. They will be good for dinners. I will probably boil some eggs next, as I used up the last batch.

All afternoon in the kitchen. But on the bright side, it will make the work-week a little easier.

I guess I'm not a person who loves food. I have a functional relationship with food. Except when I'm stressed and I want to eat all the snacks, but I'm working on changing that habit. I used to eat out too much, so I'm doing more cooking at home now. It's easier to count the calories and know what I'm consuming this way.

Didn't mind cooking till I started it as a job. Cooking at work is fine, but coming home to it after a 10hour day ugh.

I've always liked cooking. I hate cleaning up after. The rest is fun.
I tend to listen to music or podcasts while I work in the kitchen.

I love to cook, got it from my mom. And I especially love cooking with her utensils I inherited
It makes me feel still connected to her even though she's been gone a long time now.

I hate cooking. I hate all aspects of it: meal planning, grocery shopping, prep, everything. My philosophy is that a meal shouldn't take longer to cook/prepare than it does to eat.

I tell people I hate cooking and they automatically assume I eat out all the time. No, I still do it, I just dislike it. Adulting.

100% accurate. I hate cooking with a passion, but oddly.. I love to bake. I do not find the act of preparing food to be cathartic, an endeavor of love, etc. I just find it to be a chore.

I like cooking, especially trying new recipes and tweeking recipes to how I want them. I don't mind the cleaning up that I'm able to do while the food is cooking, but after the food is prepared and eaten, I find the rest of the cleaning up annoying. Doesn't matter though because it's still gotta be done like it or not.

I do enjoy baking. I hate the grind of breakfast-lunch-dinner. I bake when I have the energy & interest to, and it's almost like a creative outlet.

When I was in college I hated cooking. I wasn't very good at it but then it was all new to me. Now I actually enjoy it and am good at it. I also love cooking for others.

I enjoy it but I hate prep work. I LOVE baking though, that’s my area of expertise in the kitchen.

Luckily my boyfriend really enjoys cooking. He used to be a chef and so I will gladly eat his food over mine. This evening he whipped up chilli and cornbread for tomorrows lunch, empanadas, mini strawberry cheesecakes, and now he’s making gnocchi for dinner.

I like cooking, but I often lose my appetite doing it, especially if it takes a while.
Cooking for one sometimes sucks too because I like leftovers, but not leftover, and overs.
I'm trying lately to make things I can freeze a portion of, or parts of which I can incorporate into a different meal.

Soup is one of my favourite foods (hard to screw up too) and I've begun making crackers to go with too. Easy and sooo good.

I enjoy the cooking I do. However, I do not do complex or interesting cooking.

Nutrition is very important for a child. Since my husband and I work a lot and we do not have time to cook food for us and the child, we turned to a company that provides services of a personal chef. Here is a link to their website https://blacktruffleaz.com/ . We told him what foods we like and he makes our own meals from our favorite and healthy foods.

I love cooking, but I tend to keep things pretty simple during the week and do more complex and interesting things that take more time on the weekends when I can throw on some music and poor myself a glass of wine and go to work. I learned to cook in college when I was broke and could rarely afford to take ladies out on dinner dates. I got pretty good at it and really good at it over the years as I got older. My wife cooks some days, but I'm the primary cook at home.

During the week it's usually some kind of meat, poultry, or fish that I season and throw on the grill and a veg of some kind. Cooking a weeknight dinner typically only takes me around 15-20 minutes tops. Weekends are for more complex dishes and experimentation.

ETA: I hate cleanup though. Fortunately, my wife does most of that since I'm usually the one doing the cooking. I try to clean as I go though, so there's not a ton to do afterwards.

I never enjoyed cooking but primarily because I didn’t want to waste the time and clean up after. In more recent years, with a change in my eating habits, I’ve found it a good way to destress after work and a challenge to recreate some of my favorite things in a much healthier way. I also started acquiring cookbooks as inspiration for meals and challenge myself to frequently step out of my comfort zone. I also like knowing I’m fully in control of the ingredients, knowing what’s in my food and supporting local farms, ranches, and fisherman. It’s been a full transformation, and I’ve found plenty of people willing to let me experiment with their taste buds instead of going out to eat.

This is me too. Back in my days of cooking for a dh and children and nobody liked the same things, all I got were complaints. And after 38 years+ of cooking for daycare children when out of 6 children NOBODY liked the same thing except pizza. :) .....all the affection I might have had a million years ago, is totally gone. :( I only cook now on occasion and have no problem with baking. Course, it's so much easier to bake stuff everybody likes than cook a meal with veggies that everybody'll eat. Lol And if it's just me I live on simple stuff, no(or hardly any) cooking involved.

I do like making soups for myself though. :) But dh won't touch 'em. :s

I have to admit though, I like the idea of cooking? Just not all that it entails to make a meal only to have it devoured within 10 minutes. :/
