I've made some really great friends on MFP...Unfortunately, I come-and-go so often that I don't have the heart to ask any of them to re-add me! This will definitely be my last rodeo. I only plan on being here for the month of April. After that, no guarantees. I'm a very supportive friend, but, again, I'm a bit flighty! Add me, if you'd like. If not, you can track my progress, here: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10736198/just-give-me-1-month-april-2019#latest

Why are you so flighty? Why not stick to it?
I ask a lot of questions

Hi, Ali! Every time that I've done MFP, I've had great success losing weight. Sometimes I get fed-up with the social side of it, sometimes I just quit for other (personal) reasons. I should reach my goal weight by the end of this month, so I'll be logging my meals until then.

Your goal is to lose 10lbs? If that's all you need to lose, then you shouldn't be trying to lose it in 4 weeks.

TT's a prime example about being fed-up with the social side...Nothing but a bunch of trolls on the Message Boards who have no life. You post a thread looking for friends, and they comment on your weight loss plan. FOr the record, 10.8 lbs in a month = 2.7 lb/week. Very do-able.

Doable doesn't = healthy or sustainable.

no trolling on my part just wondering why you come and go. If you want to be friends with super fun people like then you have to stick around. Well you'd want to because I am rather entertaining if I do say so myself

TLDR: Don't use the community function if it frustrates you, but continue to log your food, because it works.

I kind of like the message boards because I have gained a new perspective on weight loss (like that if I mess up one day, it's not a complete loss and I should log it anyway) and I've gained some helpful tips (like zero out the scale with the peanut butter jar on it and take out what you want and log the negative number so you can lick the spoon). But I can see how the message boards might not be for everyone. Just use the app to log your food in that case. I did that for the first 30-something pounds of my loss, but the last 10 pounds have been killer so I came here looking for support.

Such an interesting exchange. Long time members trying to support a repeat newbie, who apparently already got tired of the "social side" and disappeared. Again. Again.
