BMR/RMR Testing

Maybe 5 years ago I weighed 40-50 lbs more. I did a BMR test with a doctor and found my BMR was 1070. I have hypothroidism so the low metabolism is expected. And with weight loss it goes even lower. I'm 19 lbs from my goal and losing 1.5 lb a week on 1200 calories to 1400 to offset exercise.
My question is what happens when I hit my goal? Does anyone know of a calculator for hypothroidism. Should I repeat the test at U of Tx for $95?
I am thrilled to be losing 1.5 per week despite MFP goal of 2 lbs on 1200 calories!

With only 40-50lbs to lose, you should be aiming for more like 1lb/week. maybe change your goal to 1.5 and hope to lose the 1, on slightly more cals. the 2lb/week is good if you have 75+ lbs to lose.

Another option is you can go to your doctor to get thyroid meds to get that in check, which should increase your BMR to "normal" levels once the dosage is sorted out

At your current rate of loss that suggests maintenance is around 1900 cals
