Increased Vascular Visibility

A bit of a strange question here but here we go.

Is it common to see a greater visibility of veins under the skin when losing weight?
I have noticed this recently despite very little change on the scales. I am beginning to see vessels in places I haven't before such as abdomen and legs.

Since I haven't seen the scaled budge very much I wasn't sure I was losing subcutaneous fat at all.. could this suggests I am losing? And I need to lay off the scales for a while?

I must mention that I have increased the amount of exercise I am doing.
