I was watching these birds and it looked like they were performing some sort of mating ritual. After The police knocked on my door and had a discussion with me I realized what I had been watching was just my neighbors getting it on. Simple mistake.

What does this sound like to non-Australians?

Sounds like a hospital I once worked in.

My ex and I used to have 200 acres of old growth forest here in OK, just 30 min out of the city.
I loved to walk through the woods looking at the birds.
    I catalogued one year,
    I identified 73 species.
I also cared for a Blue Jay for 11yrs.
    He was an ***!

It's a parrot native to New Zealand, they called it Kea.

Yes. I love to bird watch. I am the Bird Whisperer. An emu walked up to me one day. I live in southern California. I guess he was lost. That was my proudest moment. Here is my emu friend. i2hrszmy6d0a.jpg

Well that doesn't happen often. Should we address you as Emooshi713?

I don’t watch the birds as much as they watch me when I’m running by :D

    Cobra chickens!!! :D

    Those Cobra chickens watch EVERYTHING!

And they don't yield to vehicles either. In this area they just often don't migrate, and a few neighborhoods were overrun to the point that the state got involved to remove a bunch of them.

No good photos to share but we have a fairly large variety in this area. Plenty of marshland birds, and some massive osprey nests to be found. There are a few Bald Eagles in the area as well.

There was a large Red Tailed Hawk that was dominating the residential area where I live for a couple years. It used the fences of yards to stop easy escape routes for the rabbits. It would often sit on the peak of a house or light post and just observe until a rabbit was in "the zone" and then swoop down silently. It became very efficient at that hunting method, and I saw it grab several rabbits.

I've spotted a few owls, but they are hard to catch out in the daylight usually. I have an area that I go for deer spotting on my bike (roll in almost silently) and one day found a large owl munching on a snake.

Yes! My son (12) is a budding ornithologist, and we love to watch birds around us. We're trying to figure out how to set up a feeder in this new neighborhood, where there is a substantial feral cat population. We don't want to just lure birds in to their death. Glad to know there are others of us out there and on here

Omg! Like construction and monkeys and crows cawing, and cars, etc.
Also like an engine turning over,
How bizarre, I couldn’t handle them hanging around my windows.
