Hi all! I broke my leg in Jan 2019 and until 2 weeks ago was not able to do anything. I had to keep leg elevated at all times. So of course I would just eat from boredom. I gained 30 lbs in 3 months and am so disgusted in myself. Nothing fits me and I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I have just started with physiotherapy and small 10 to 15 walks (with canes) around my block. I have cut back with amount of food, eating more vegies and fruits, but find that I am starving all the time now. It took me 10 years to lose all my weight from before. Now I am right back to where I started (190 lbs) I went from XL to small back to XL in my clothing! I am so afraid that now that I am older I will not be able to lose the weight again. Sure I may drop a bit, but I want to be back to to my 140lbs I was 3 years ago!

You can do it! Being laid up does set us back--right now you need to focus on healing. Keep incorporating more fruits and veggies. Protein fills me up better than other stuff. As you start moving more you can lose. I am 64 and am losing weight.1

How tall are you? How many calories per day are you eating?0

Sorry to hear about your broken leg! I broke both my ankles at the same time and actually lost weight because I couldn’t get out to eat. Just exercise every part of your body you can and eat plenty protein for healing!1
