I used MFP a couple of years ago, but wasn't seeing very good results. I found the problem was the nut behind the keyboard - me! I have since found good results by committing to completing the diary every day. I began to see patterns and ways to improve my numbers. Specifically, I found I was not getting near enough protein. It's one thing to reduce calories, it's quite another to starve yourself of essential nutrients.
Also, this go round, I have added a modest amount of exercise - 30 minutes a day - and it's working: I'm down from 218 at Christmas to 193 today.
I really like this app and this community.

Good progress... keep it up!! Took me awhile to figure out that all calories are not equal. After that, it was pretty smooth sailing. (Protein was key for me as well)0
