Increasing water and staying same weight

I used to drink 2-3 litres water a day and now increased this to around 4 a day. Not forcing it but just more thirsty, no longer interested in tea and work out quite hard every evenings I drink more after gym to replenish it.

However weight loss has stalled and maintained.

Anyone else had this and does this eventually work out?

Any advice would be fab :-)

The amount of water you drink has no bearing on weight loss. Weight loss is achieved through calorie deficit. Water has no calories. Look at your food intake instead.

I been keeping the same deficit. For 10 weeks steadily lost with one week maintained. Now 3 weeks in row stayed same.

Why do you think drinking more water would cause weight loss?

You would be better off concentrating on logging your food accurately - your diary is very sparse.
If you don't know your calorie intake how do you know if you are at a calorie deficit?

You may stay the same for few more weeks, it's just the way it goes., keep your diet and wait :) I drink 6-8 cups of water a day.

This. You don't log on weekends, and it looks like you are only partially logging most other days. Either that or you're starving yourself. Either way is not going to help you.

Also, have you adjusted your calorie allowance per day since you started, to allow for the reduction in your BMR from losing the weight you've lost so far?

Your body has been in "fat burning" mode for 7 weeks and you have lost weight. Your body is stalling and taking a breather. It needs it.

At weekends I don't get near a computer to log, just tally it up on my phone as know the calorie intake. I reach 1400 every day.

Im not expecting to lose MORE weight drinking more water. Im just wondering why losing inches and upping my exercising etc does water have an effect. That was all.

Its not expecting to lost even more weight. I was lucky to average 3lbs a week and don't expect that to happen forever. Be happy with 1/1.5 a week as slower means longer off. I appreciate that.

My food is usually accurately added - I just havn't been near a computer to be logged - I can see my last week doesn't look full but Its worked out.

What a nonsense...at weekends I only log to my phone.....please, we are not idiots, if you log into your phone it goes directly into your account. You are.. or starving yourself or trolling us. End of story.

Well seeing as my Blackberry doesn't log into MFP I am unable to. I set up a genuine post and you can see from previous posts I am sincere on this site and for you to be like that is quite unfair. I am not near devices during the day at weekends so put in text or emails what I eat to track the calories when near my work computer on a Monday morning.

Automatically joining a thread and accusing someone of being a troll was not what I was expecting. I just wanted to know if people had issues when increasing their water take and instead now having to defend myself!?

I don't log my food or weight changes because I hate that little ticker at the bottom and I haven't quite figured out how to take it off. I don't log my food here because like you I am not at devices. I keep it in a notebook. The funny thing is that people have unfriended me because I don't log completely and they don't think I take my weight loss seriously instead of just asking. When in reality I've lost more weight than them. So I understand your dilemma on that end.

Water increase is good if you are eating too much salt and your body has water bloat, but I can't see how it could help with anything else. Water is great for the skin and all your body, but like others mentioned, more water doesn't equal more weight loss (unless it's water weight ... not exactly what you are looking to lose).

Are you doing the same things over and over again (both with food and/or exercise)? If you are then your body is probably figuring out how to keep the weight on and staying at the size you are at now (the body loves to do that). The body needs to have things changed up regularly so that it doesn't get used to it to keep losing weight.

Will be doing advice from someone above about resetting my TDEE etc and more than likely need to shake things up. Need to get creative hat on for different lunches etc. Thanks so much.
