Hi fellow MFP users, I’m back to using MFP today (gave up using it a while ago when my weight just seemed to plateau). I’m trying to keep my horrible menopausal symptoms at bay, keep my weight down and generally maintain good health, and did finally manage to lose weight very effectively over a three month period when I totally overhauled our diet and managed to reverse my husband’s shock diagnosis of type 2 diabetes, through a much healthier approach to our everyday eating. It might only be a temporary remission from diabetes for him but only time will tell, for now we are both focused on carrying on our new eating habits!! If only I could diet my way out of the menopause!!! Been suffering horrendous hot flushes, night sweats and sleep problems for five years now 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ but cannot take HRT......

Good for you and I hope you are able to keep it up!! I have found it frustrating and it’s been a blow to my confidence that I’ve put on a few pounds since menopause. It’s so hard to lose the extra lbs now!!! I also find that my mid-section seems more pudgy. It seems my hot flashes have stopped after about two years and I hope it stays that way. I have to pay strict attention to my eating, exercise and stress levels since menopause, otherwise it really affects my mental health. Best of luck to you!
