Balancing Lupus-Friendly with Diabetic-Friendly

Help, please! I have lupus and am diabetic with a few other lesser health issues. I am trying to find a diet (not so much a diet-diet as a way of eating) that will be friendly to both of those and my budget. Anyone out there in the same boat? How are you managing?

    I think a lot of diabetics here improved their condition simply by losing weight.

    Perhaps the Mediterranean-style way of eating (minus the garlic per above link) would be a good WOE for you?
