sugar or fat?

I find myself having to constantly make decisions during the day based on what I'm more afraid of of; sugar or fat. I want to have a snack, but fruit has too much sugar in it, but peanut butter is high in fat. I'm at the point where I don't know where to put my focus. I always go over on sugar based on the fact that I eat so much produce, but I never go ever on fat. I have this horrible fear of developing gestational diabetes and then having it not go away after pregnancy (diabetes runs in my family.) It's kinda of starting to drive my husband nuts how neurotic I've become about my diet, do I need to be? Or am I totally justified?

Your body actually requires fat, so I'd lean towards getting your proper amounts of fats. As for fruit, sure it can contribute to weight gain in large quantities, but it's heck of a lot healthier for you then taking in sugar from baked goods or sugary beverages. So go ahead and eat your apple with peanut butter. You'll be fine.

You on here to COUNT calories . If it fits your calories eat it!
Fats are good , carbs are good , protein is good! moderation is key . you will still burn fat if you are eating Fats and Sugars at a calorie deficit .

As long as you're getting enough protein, enough fiber, and enough fat, then it doesn't matter. Don't worry about sugar from natural sources like fruit. As long as your meeting your calorie goals, then there is no reason to worry about fat either.

All the scary things you grew up hearing about fat have been debunked. Fat keeps you full longer then sugar/carbs. Only fat you should avoid is trans fats.

Don't be afraid of either, but keep in mind dietary fat is essential, Carbs not so much, and sugar is just a carb. that said weight gain/loss will come down to cals in vs. cals out.
