Third gym day?

Hello,

I'm do 2 days a week in the gym and intersperse with bouldering. One of my gym days is upper body, bench press, bent over row, overhead press, upright row. The other day is lower body, dead lift, squat, reverse lunge, box jump. Both days have core.

These exercises were set by a climbing coach to compliment bouldering.

Some weeks I don't have time to climb much and id like to add a third gym day but don't know what would compliment the exercises I do. Any ideas? Thanks!

Does your coach have any insight on this? If not, you could add cardio of your choice, repeat one of the current workouts, or do a full body routine with 3 upper, 3 lower, and core.

Thanks! Argh dreaded cardio! Maybe full body then I just don't want to get to worn out.

Have you considered doing a plyometric based workout? I would think that type of training would be very beneficial for a climber.

Editted because you have a coach.

I would ask coach to make the adjustments on frequency. This is fairly easy to do since you only have two days of training.

Unfortunately it's an ex coach :)
