So I decided to splurge on a special dinner for hubby and I (calorie wise) tonight. I got a grilled chicken and mozzarella stuffed ravioli. The package says 100g is the serving size. But it doesnt indicate if that is 100g cooked or uncooked. I use a food scale in order to get everything properly logged and dont k ow how to log this tonight! So help a girl out, do you measure pre or post cooking?! Thanks everyone!

Usually it is "as is" in the container. A lot of the ravioli like that is already pre-cooked, so while it will gain weight during cooking, it's not quite as drastic as dry pasta.

Look at the total weight, number of servings per package and weight of each serving. That will tell you that the weight is "as packaged" since the product of number of servings times the weight of each serving will equal the total package weight.

I don't know how it is with stuffed pasta, but you can usually tell if pasta numbers are for cooked or uncooked by simply looking at them. For example, 100g of uncooked Gnocchi is 350kcal, whereas 100g of cooked is like 124 (give or take). That's quite a big difference. I use that knowledge when looking at pasta numbers.

As for serving size, I generally don't let packaging decide how much I eat (unless individually packed items), but I measure my food when putting it on my plate based on how many calories I have left and then eat that - might be less than a serving, might be more. It differs.
