Ok, so say a friend of mine binge ate alot of taco bell and half a pizza yesterday night after drinking...... The next day he went to the gym and put in a 2 hr workout with resistance and cardio. Do I ... I mean my friend need to consume carbs post workout or was his binge carbs from the night before still sitting in his system and waiting to be used for protein synthesis?

Assuming that you - I mean your friend - even need extra carbs for protein synthesis (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3850644/) a binge like that should have topped off your friend's glycogen stores, which generally are enough to fuel you - I mean your friend - for a day. So I would say your friend is fine.9

Thank you for that lovely early morning chuckle. 🙂1 -
Are you running a marathon? Then yes, you need carbs after. Anything less, probably not. And this is true no matter how poorly you ate the the day before.2
