Tuna Cakes

I’ve wanted to try making tuna cakes for a while now and I finally tried it the other night and loved the result!
Ingredients for one serving (2 cakes):
1 can of tuna
Chopped red onion, celery, and bell pepper (I used maybe 1/4 cup of each? Chop to your liking!)
1-2 tbsp of bread crumb
1/2 a whisked egg
Black pepper
Mix all the ingredients and shape into 2 patties.
Heat up 1 tbsp of olive oil in a pan and place your cakes in the pan. Flip after a few minutes, when the cake is golden brown.
I also made a remoulade sauce. I thought to myself, a remoulade sauce kind of defeats the purpose of trying to make healthy tuna cakes, but it’s really only another 150ish calories and I’m trying to enjoy my food!
For the sauce, I used:
1 tbsp of mayo
1/2 tbsp of yellow mustard
Paprika
Black pepper
A splash of pickle juice
1/2 tsp of prepared horse radish
I served my cakes with roasted veggies and really enjoyed my meal!

My guess is you whip the whole egg, then use half1

Adding too much egg as a binder to any recipe like this can completely change the texture.4

So is the canned tuna in water or oil? I prefer in water but if it's important to the recipe I'd try tuna in oil.0

In my opinion it does not matter ,but personally if they are fried then I would use tuna in water, if they are made in the oven, tuna in oil1

Are you using the other half of the egg? My thought would be to fry it in an egg ring with the tuna cakes and use an egg layer between the two patties in a bun. You know, I think I'm going to try this today.4
