Low cal, high fat food

Some people are going to say, "you can't have low cal, high fat foodzZzz!". As a general rule, this is right. However there are exceptions.

I'll give you can example. Yesterday I had 50g of mascapone. 50g is not an awful lot, but for 200kcal it contained a whopping 22g of fat. Now that's pretty much a bargain. Go for 100g/400kcal and you have 44g of fat.

So what other examples can people think of? Boiled eggs are also a good one. Three boiled eggs contain about 210kcal and about 16g of fat, which is also decent.

What you're referring to is a high fat percentage ratio -- i.e. kcal from fat per 100kcal total.

Low cal then just becomes a portion control issue.

    Cream cheese
    Butter
Bacon is probably in the 70% range
Nut butters are likely pretty high

I don't really consider that low calorie, and why would you want to try to find "foods" that are almost pure fat anyway?

Fat is good for you. You need fat. If you're trying to reach a certain macro goal and you need a food that has a high fat-to-carbs ratio, for example, then you'd want something like the foods listed above.

You can have anything you want as long as you figure it in and don't have an excess amount or eat it "all the time". No such thing as a "bad food" in my opinion.
I like green olives on my home made pizza. According to the jar they are 25 calories in 5 olives and all of the calories are from fat grams! ??? but I'm not giving them up because it tastes soooo good. Moderation!!!!

I think the numbers you got for the mascapone are off a bit. A gram of fat is 9 calories. So 22g of fat is 198 calories. I'm pretty sure there is missing carbohydrate and protein grams (4 calories per gram for either)

Or I could look it up and see no carbohydrates and very little protein... Wow.
  • Avocados. They're high in fat.
Also low cal, high fat meal: salads with oil based dressing. Salad dressings are pretty high in fat.
