Gestational Diabetes Keto Diet

Hi all. I'm 16 weeks pregnant and just been diagnosed with GD yesterday. I developed it in my last pregnancy at 36 weeks and he was born a week later, so never saw the specialists.

Has anyone else had this and found the keto diet to help?

This would be a great question for your OB Doc. I'd also be asking for a referral to a registered dietitian.

This is pretty serious. Don’t trust advice on social media. You have a long way to go. Talk to your ob/gyn.

Since you were just diagnosed, your ob/gyn should have given you detailed dietary guidelines and hopefully a reference to a registered dietician. Please listen to them. Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy!

I had that with my first child at about 28wks, I had weekly blood tests and ended up on insulin until delivery.

Definitely ask for a referal to a dietitian and get their professional opinion on it, mine gave me lots of advice.
Please don't take any advice from anyone on here each person's circumstances are different and what might have worked for them may not be the best for you.
