I had my daughter 3 weeks ago and completely lost my appetite since having her.
A week after giving birth I was so disgusted by how I looked I joined slimming world, but I’ll be completely honest I haven’t even been following the plan and have been calorie counting, problem being I’m not even eating 400 calories a day. The first week I lost 9.5lbs, this week I have only lost 2.5lbs, I know this is completely unhealthy and I can’t continue becuase I’m exhausted all the time from lack of food and nightfeeds.
Last week I told my consultant I wanted to lose 5lbs this week, in the class I was asked what went wrong, I made up that I had over ate and that’s where I went wrong, truth be told I hadn’t eaten barely anything that week, some days only consuming 100cals so not sure if my weight loss will stall due to not eating.
My skin is now suffering and my face has a rash on both sides, deep down I know I need to eat more but now I’m too worried if I do try to stick to 1000cals a day, the 12lbs I’ve already lost I’ll just gain back, any advice?

See your doctor immediately. You can’t continue to eat so little. You need to be a healthy momma for your baby.18

Please speak to your doctor about postpartum depression. Your feelings are very concerning. If you are breastfeeding you won't be able to sustain a supply on such low calories, and even if you're not, it's very unhealthy. Your baby deserves a healthy, happy momma ((Hugs))
Also, my skin went absolutely nuts after I had my first baby. It was horrible! But temporary. It cleared up after my hormones settle down a bit.8 -
You can't keep eating so few calories-- your body is in starvation mode. Getting the baby weight off is an important goal, but you're doing it too aggressively. You need to talk to your OB because it sounds like you are suffering some hormonal imbalance and possibly post-partum. I'm also not a fan of whoever your consultant is, because they should know that losing 5 pounds in a week isn't healthy-- 2 pounds is the goal and as a new mom as your body goes back to normal you will naturally just lose some of that weight without needing to diet. You shouldn't eat less than 1,200 calories a day otherwise your body goes into starvation mode. Also this isn't good for your baby if you are breast feeding-- your baby can't get the nutrition he/she needs if you are not. Your body uses what you eat to make breast milk. Please, talk to your doctor, consider seeing someone for depression, and please eat more. For you and your baby.14

Quit that class. If possible, report that consultant to someone; they should not just stand there when someone aims for a dangerous rate of weight loss, they should not criticise someone for failing at the impossible, and that goes triple when the someone is a week post-partum.
Also, see a doctor or a therapist for your eating disorder. It may be partly hormonal - your hormones are crazy right now! - but it needs to be nipped in the bud before you do yourself any more damage.
Look. There is nothing disgusting about your body. It's just been through a really challenging experience and it needs some sympathy and love as it heals up from making a baby, making room for a baby, and making a whole load of extra blood vessels and other infrastructure to support that baby. It has been doing its best and it does not deserve to be punished like this17 -
My heart hurts for you, OP. I struggled mightily with self image after my first baby. Nobody told me not everyone will "bounce back" like the media portrays. That my body would look (to me) absolutely wrecked. I can sympathize with you so deeply, which is why I'm coming back to post again, I guess.
Please, please be kind to yourself. Eat! Stay off the scale. Spend as much time cuddling that tiny baby you made as possible. And alternatively, don't be afraid to ask someone around you for some help when you need a break. And please see your doctor. If nothing else, you should be scheduled for a 6-week checkup. Be honest when they ask how you're doing Don't swallow it all down and try to be brave like I did.5 -
Please seek medical help immediately! Think of your child and not just yourself. Be well!2

I strongly agree with the advice to seek out both a doctor and a therapist immediately. Do not wait another day to set an appointment. And quit that consultant. They are the last thing you need right now. There is nothing to be ashamed of for what you are feeling, but you do need help or else you are putting your health in serious jeopardy. Like life threatening if you keep this up long term.3

As others have already stated seek help immediately from your doctor and therapist. If you are breast feeding, your milk supply will dry up, if it hasn’t already, putting your baby at risk, as well as yourself. Best wishes to you for a speedy resolution to this. Your baby and yourself are worth it.1

1) Starvation mode: not a thing.
2) 1200 is too low for a breastfeeding mom. Typically 2000 is about right to ensure enough to maintain milk supply.
3) I agree with the recommendations to seek profession medical help (slimming world consultant is not).10 -
You are beautiful. Weight loss is about health. Please see a doctor and a certified nutritionist that can help you on a path to good health. Your body needs proper food intake to have the tools to burn what you're looking to lose. You can do this, because you are amazing. And you have a beautiful little girl to prove it's true.2

Adding to the others to please please please see your doctor immediately! It sounds like you may have postpartum depression. You are doing your body very real harm and your breastmilk supply is also likely suffering or going to very soon. I understand the struggle. My son is 20 months and I'm still carrying 25lbs of pregnancy weight. But you need to remember that your health and your baby's health are more important than your appearance. Also remember that you will continue losing a lot of bloating and fluids from pregnancy over the next several weeks. You will typically hear 6-8 weeks, but I continued losing bloat for about 5 months post-partum even without my weight changing. Your body is still healing from the major trauma of pregnancy and birth while also adapting to entirely new lifestyle. You need to fuel it properly.3
