Does the Fitbit monitor automatically measure calories burned when swimming?
Are there any monitors that measure steps taken (pedometer) as well as heart rate and also calories burned (inc swimming- so needs to be waterproof)?

The fitbit is mainly used for counting your steps (walking, running, climbing stairs).0

So that wouldn't track the physical movement of say cycling or rowing then?0

It may report some movement but it wouldn't be accurate.0

It ESTIMATES calories burned based on movement. It's always moitoring, and the more movement it senses, the more calories it's going to estimate as being burned.
I've worn mine swimming and the estimates always seem reasonable to me. Whatever reasonable is, lol.0 -

It is essentially just a fancy pedometer.0
