04/29: 170 Day 1. I've done this group before with success. I've fallen off the exercise/eating healthy train hard. Gained back what I have lost numerous times. Starting again today. Looking forward to seeing whose in this group and reading daily posts for motivation!
04/30: 170.6 Ate late at a pizza party scout event. Not great options. Ate as sensible as I could. Woke up bloated. Planning out meals for the rest of the week. My husband is gone for the next 10 days for work so I always find it super easy to eat very healthy meals that he may not like as much!

04/23: 136.8 / 14,448 / Not as bad as I thought it would be. It’s actually exactly what it was 3/28, the last time I weighed. Oh, and I had spaghetti last night, so this might be a little higher than true weight.
04/24: 134.6 / -2.2 / 15,277 / I’m guessing yesterday was artificially high, because I’m fairly certain I didn’t lose 2.2 pounds over night. I did good yesterday, but not that good.
04/25: 134.6 / 0.0 / 15,545 / I even had pizza for dinner. Yum!
04/26: 135.6 / +1.0 / 12.277 / TOM being a girl sucks
04/27: Out of town, no scale / 8,581 steps not bad for spending 7 hours driving.
04/28: Out of town, no scale / 30,156 steps / Pleased with activity, 13.1 miles yesterday, but my eating was awful.
04/29: 139.4 /+3.8 / 30,661 / Yup my weight reflects my weekend, but it should settle lower as I get the sodium, excess & TOM out of my system. Either way back to back 13.1 mile days is pretty great.
04/30: 136.4 / -3.0 / didn’t wear tracker / looks like my excess weight from poor eating has dropped. Hopefully it drops a tad more and brings me back to even.

Round four, back for more! I have another challenging round ahead of me. I'll be taking my high school students on their first multi-day trip right in the middle of this round and I'm also expecting my TOM at the same time. That means water retention and high sodium food choices for several days. I plan on being more diligent tracking my water, getting at least 10,000 steps everyday, and I'm aiming for a 1 lb weight loss to get myself back to where I was at the end of Round 73.

04/23 184.6 lb Yesterday was a great start to this round! I drank 45oz of water and 22oz of non-calorie drinks, walked 13,645 steps, and kept within my calorie goals. We even went to Red Robin for dinner and I got salmon instead of the usual burger and fries. It was tasty, if not a little too salty. More water planned for today as it's the boyfriend's night to provide dinner and it usually is not particularly healthy.
04/24 184.6 lb I walked 13,218 steps, drank 30oz of water and 34oz of non-calorie drinks and kept within my calorie goals again. I'm getting anxious about the high school trip. I expect it to go well; I've taught most of these students for the last five years and know them very well, but I keep thinking of the phrase, "One kid, one brain. Two kids, no brains." We have 23 kids going on this trip.
04/25 183.6 lb Yesterday I had 14,529 steps tracked, 30oz of water and came in under calorie goals in preparation for our band trip. We boarded the bus at 6:30 with no issues and are on our way to Philadelphia!
04/26 Travelling, no scale. I tracked 13,415 steps, drank about 30oz of water, and went about 700 calories over, which isn't too bad for restaurant food all day. The students are behaving well and our day is packed with museum visits and musical experiences. They better sleep well tonight to be ready for our competition tomorrow.
04/27 Travelling, no scale. I hate the "Done" button in the app. I always hit it first instead of "Post Reply" and wipe out my response. I tracked 10,115 steps, drank 65oz of water, and made sure my food choices weren't all garbage. They weren't great, but it could have been worse. We're competing this morning and then spending the rest of the day in the theme park! I love roller coasters! 🎢
04/28 Travelling, no scale. The band received an "excellent" rating at competition yesterday! I tracked 22,133 steps, drank 50 oz water, and rode four roller coasters.
04/29 183.6 lb Super pleased with today's check-in. I walked 20,196 steps yesterday wandering around NYC with the students. Water was okay with about 40oz, but I'm feeling pretty thirsty today so I don't think it was enough. I have no idea about calories; breakfast was hotel food, lunch was a burger and fries, and dinner was a stromboli from a highway rest stop. I'll be very curious to see where the scale goes in the next few days as I get back into my routine.
04/30 182.6 lb Calories were low yesterday to help offset the last few days of overeating. I drank 30oz of water and 32oz of non-calorie drinks. 12,042 steps were tracked and I was able to watch the latest GOT episode and watch Avengers Endgame so my students don't accidentally share any spoilers with me. They were very good yesterday, but I can't expect them to not talk about it all week.

04/23 151.3, exercised and ate well yesterday. Going to a baseball game tonight and will limit myself to one beer.
04/24 150.8, surprised on weight loss because I had two beers and a polish sausage. I wasn’t over terribly on calories but expect an uptick over the next few days. Worth it though!
04/25 150.7, first of two cocktail parties is tonight. Did a double yesterday to help with calorie intake. I did wake up thirsty so 64 oz of water wasn’t enough to combat the salt the previous day. Will make sure I’m hydrated going into tomorrow and the week end.
04/26 150.4, danced a lot last night, but did have more drinks and saltier food than I usually have. Back to the diet today.

I had a bit of a sugarfest yesterday, but am back on track today. I did go for a nice 3-mile walk along the St. Joseph River on the Indiana Native Tree Path, which is just beautiful. Today is chilly and rainy, so I'm off to the Y in a few minutes. Teach my final Writing Your Memoir class this evening - I'll be happy to have Monday evenings free but will miss the students - it's been a wonderful small class. But more time to get outdoors, put in my new garden, walk walk walk, and write my own stuff. Yay summer (she says, looking out at the 40F rainy gloom....but flowers!

This is my 6th round! I have had lots of success during this process. I am going to be on my diet break during this entire round eating at maintenance to reset. I reached my 192.0 pound goal on my official weigh in day Friday April 19th. I'm also curious to see how the process works at maintenance for the future. We'll see how it goes! Good luck to all!

04/23: 195.4 (A slight decrease back to baseline! I ate around 1600 calories yesterday AND worked out, so I'm still at a deficit since my maintenance calories are set at 1960. It's pretty difficult to eat more during the week. I guess this means I'll have extra treats over the weekend. I did a 10 minute elliptical workout followed by 15 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical and finally a core workout. I made Cajun grilled chicken with asparagus and had some rice.)
04/24: 194.2 (I'm having a hard time sticking to my calories! Yesterday I ate 1375 calories and did a 50 minute elliptical workout. I was supposed to have 2613 calories with my maintenance and exercise calories . At least I'm going down toward my maintenance weight of 192.0 pounds. I made spaghetti and meatballs last night and had a decent sized bowl.)
04/25: 193.4 (My boss brought me an unexpected glazed donut and large hot chocolate from Dunkin Donuts yesterday. Oh goodness! Definitely not planned, but I drank half the hot chocolate and donut since the sugar content was too much for my liking. I did a 25 minute elliptical workout mixed with some HIIT. I made some grilled chicken pitas yesterday for dinner. So this loss is pretty nice considering the sugar high I had.)
04/26: 193.4 (I gained 1.4 pounds since last Friday. I calculated my calories from last Friday until last night and I had a deficit of almost 4500 calories over the week and still gained. I've been eating lots of high sodium things these past few days and I'm sure that is the reason for the gain. I've also increased exercise by 5 minutes this week per day but I don't think it would've made that much of a difference. Last night I had 2 slices of pizza for dinner and it was my day off from exercise too.)
04/27: 195.0 (30 minutes of weight training. Not feeling too great to post anything else other than that.)
04/28: 196.2 (50 minutes on the elliptical. Still doing maintenance but having a hard time eating all this food.)
04/29: 197.8 (Another increase, which is okay because there's still a few days left until the end of the challenge and my weigh-in day Friday. I did 55 minutes on the elliptical and could not eat all the calories I had leftover for the week. Happy Monday!)

04/23 337.2 I’m surprised by this drop, especially since I was sure my sodium was high yesterday. But I guess it wasn’t as bad as I feared and I dropped water weight from the weekend. I’ll see what the next few days bring and not be surprised if I see a bounce up.
04/24. 338.2 Hey I’m getting good at predicting the bounces. To be fair this number seems closer to what I thought I should be, so I’m pretty happy with it.
04/25 338.2 I’m okay with this. Tom is creeping ever closer and last month my weight slowed and bounced around for several days before.

4/23 175.7 I skipped a round but still weighed everyday. I missed the therapeutic experience of typing out my frustrations. I am happy enough with that number. I did see 172.7 while I was away but I knew it was an anomaly so I didn't change my weight. I have completed all three rings on my Apple watch 9 of the last 10 days, only 3 days this month when I didn't do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. To be fair I counted hours of yard work as exercise but I cut down 3 truck loads of brush in the last two weeks and hauled it off to the "green" dump. Below is a pic of my beautiful great niece on my lap. I am posting it because you can see my legs and for the first time in my life I'm not completely embarrassed by them. Sure they're still big but not as lumpy. We had a great Easter.
4/24 177.7 It's water from leftover Easter ham. I swear I am never making ham again, 3 little ounces has 38% of your daily recommended amount of sodium. Do you think I only had 3 oz? I think 2 pounds gained in 24 hours tells the story better than I can. Went to the gym for an hour on the machines. Driving today, I may or may not stop to walk. Depends on the weather and how tired I am when I get there. I'm torn between keeping my exercise streak on my phone and tired legs. But after being stuck in the car for a couple of hours a thirty minute walk would feel good.
4/25 No Scale I stopped for my walk, three miles only. It kept looking like it was going to rain. The bluffs are so cool at this spot. Turkey vultures nest on top, so you are treated to an aerial show on the way. I stayed within goal despite the froyo for dessert.
4/26 No Scale I took a short walk yesterday and had a good work day. Today work a little in the morning (just at the hotel, no need to dress like a banker) then hit the road. I'm looking for new trails that are close to the highway. I love the All Trails app. I really wish I would have had it when I was traveling around the country and not just to St Louis. Oh well. 4/27 174.4 Back down and happy. I would like to see 16X at some point in my life. I got in a two mile walk at a pretty little park in Wentzville. I was feeling too tired for much else. Drove home and went to dinner with girlfriends.
4/28 175.2 Yard work was my only exercise but that was four hours of not stopping. The yard looks sooooo much better. Supposed to have a fun date with the man but TOM decided it wouldn't be as fun.
4/29 174.9 More yard work supplemented with hours of house work. When you travel all the time you can't do the little things during the week you would normally do so you're stuck wasting your weekends and days off doing it.
4/30 174.3 Down during this annoying TOM is always good. I'm on the 18th day in a row of hitting my Move goal and my 16th day in a row of three perfect rings. Tonight is weights but by tomorrow I'm going to be jonesing for the trail. Three days without walking is the longest stretch in several months.14 -

4/24 125.5 Almost back to HS weight. Not really trying to lose now but I need to build some muscle so will just see what happens and increase my workouts, as much as I hate them! I have been a couch potato for as long as I can remember. I am still losing fat so I guess this is okay.

4/26 126.0 Had lunch at Carlito’s. I had the stuffed sopapilla with green chili. And I ate 1/4 of the dessert sopapilla with honey. It was all delicious and it was an experiment to see how those things would affect me. It was more carbs in one meal than I usually eat in a week! We’ll see what happens over the next couple of days.

Feeling super lathargic the last two days, which is bad because I'm a full time nanny. You can't phone that in. It's hard to tell if it's metabolic or related to depression (i.e. premenstrual dysphoria; T.O.M. is coming up). Also I haven't been working out at all, and maybe that is making me conserve more energy??? Idk, I'm gonna do a 1 mile jog before work and see if that helps.

Yesterday was great! I went for a mile run and did my best pace since starting again, 9 min/mile. I also did some yoga. It feels good to get back on the movement train. But today my back muscles are sore. I need a massage 😂

Yesterday I had a NSV, I was browsing Facebook around lunchtime and someone posted about wanted taco Bell and then all of the sudden I really wanted some taco Bell crunchy beef tacos. I realized that while attempting to achieve my goal weight I had been super strict when it came to fast food, but now that I'm securely at the low end of my range why am I still avoiding it? Could it be unhealthy anxiety? So I decided to prelog 3 crunchy tacos and guess what? They were only ~500cal, the same as my lunch usually is now. So I did it, I went over to taco Bell and had 3 crunchy tacos for lunch and guess what? It was awesome and satisfying.

My weight is up a pound but my treat is still exactly the same, I love maintenance! Yesterday I decided to do a pretty difficult hike by myself mid-day and it was awesome! There were hardly any other hikers out so it really felt alone. Especially when I got to the top. I suspect my weight increase today is just water from me taxing my muscles so much yesterday.

I still haven't gotten T.O.M. and it was starting to really bother me. I am super regular at 27 or 28 days, and we are now at day 34. So I took a test and hallelujah 🙌 I'm not pregnant! I just need to hold out til my menses gets here, but at least I'm no longer freaking out.

Yesterday was really rough. After my post I started my T.O.M. (finally!!!) and was feeling really snacky. When I went to visit my mom's booth at the craft fair she had a big bowl of salt water Taffy to luer in patrons and it was an irresistible impulse to help myself while I watched her booth so she could use the restroom. That was at 9:30 a.m. and that kind of set the tone for my day. I ended up doing to much unrestrained eating and drinking. It kind of scared me. I don't want to go back to that. I almost made myself throw-up, something I haven't done in three and a half years. I decided to google how much fat can you gain in a single day of bingeing and this article popped up and it was exactly what I needed to see.

I had a fear of getting on the scale this morning. I actually stayed in bed much longer to avoid the scale. Because I knew the second I got up I'd have to weigh so I could have my wakeup water. I always wake up super thirsty, drinking about a pint to a liter straight away so I have to weigh myself first to insure we don't have water as a confounding variable in scale reading.
I still have no idea why my weight went down. It really shouldn't have with all the carbs I consumed. Ok well stay tuned to see if my body bounces up tomorrow or the next day 🧐
My final thoughts after that super long stream of consciousness: holy Hannah my trend line sure is holding steady! That's super neat!

Meal planned, shopped, worked out, no-mayo tuna salad for dinner and meal prepped. Good day, but should have taken the pups for a walk instead of spending the last 40 minutes on the couch. Awesome plan for today and will get in some steps in addition to working out my arms. No couch time tonight!

Did good on portion control with my skinnytaste bolognese sauce with penne (pasta is my FAVORITE). But at my little meeting last night had an extra glass of wine and 5 hershey kisses. Had lovely lunch for Admin Pro day. Best part? Walked in the sunshine to get there and back. Steps, Baby! But, boss encouraged a frosty beverage along with lunch. Odd thing is I was craving junk all the rest of the night and DID NOT want to work out. But guess what? I ate a handful of almonds and another skinnytaste muffin, got a big glass of water and after that had settled... I worked out. Was within 100 cals of daily goal with all that so just took a shower and slipped into bed. Better there than in the kitchen eating crap. It paid off because the scale is down almost another 2 lbs. My little hangover belly is almost gone when I stand up straight. Love those non-scale wins!

Leftover filet taco for lunch. Made an AWESOME pork tenderloin last night for dinner with half cup garlic mashed taters and a lovely arugula strawberry feta salad. So so so satisfying. Even had a couple glasses of wine and stayed within calorie range. Took the pups out. Measured myself this morning from 4/9 and down an inch in waist and hips, half inch breast and calf and a quarter on neck. Stupid thighs won't budge but we are getting there.

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.
I have found this challenge to be both rewarding and frustrating! Looking at my weight daily has been a real eye opener to see all of the fluctuations and how a high carb day will affect me and the loss for 2-3 days after. I have been participating in this challenge since Round 40.
