Anybody have any guesses as to the calorie count of the Fitbit HR? I’m 37F, 135, moderately active (walk 7000-10,000 steps everyday plus either weight lifting or HIIT 5 days/wk). My Fitbit is calculating between 1800-2000 calories.

Sounds about right to me, and I agree with Maxxit: track your food as accurately as you can while using your FitBit numbers. They are spot on for most people, but not for everyone. It's your experiment to run. :)

Hr monitors particularly fitbit and Garmin are the most accurate you can get. The technology is not there to be 100%. They are accurate enough to trust the numbers, the only time I would question them is when you get loads of steps on a long car trip or on a ride on lawn mower. I'm waiting for the technology to know the calories we put in without us having to record it manually.

They don't measure calories, they estimate. It's a statistical estimate, somewhat personalized, but founded on algorithms that rely on large-scale research studies. They'll be quite close for most people, further off (high or low) for a few, and significantly off for a very, very few. That's pretty much the nature of statistical estimates.

Follow it for 6 weeks or so, compare results to expectations, then you'll know. Over time, if it's not strictly accurate, it'll be likely to be off by a similar magnitude (percentage), then you can adjust intake accordingly, and rely on the adjusted figures.
