Cats or Dogs with Heart Disease?
I know this isn't a pet forum.... but here we all are and I'm sure a lot of us have pets!
Anyone have or dealt with a pet having heart disease?
My cat went into congestive heart failure last friday. It took 4 days in the ICU, heavy duty drugs, and maybe a miracle to keep him alive... He was sent home Monday & now we're just trying to help him, get his meds in him, and keep him going as long as it's good for him in the comfort of home.
I know it just happened.... but he refuses to eat ANYTHING! I got a few licks of tuna juice & 1 little bite of tuna in him yesterday and that's it. We have this vitamin supplement gel/goop we got from petco and we put that right in his mouth so he licks it & gets that down. But he cant survive on that. He's on a lot of meds which could be bothering his stomach maybe? But I'm sure not eating is just bothering his stomach more.
He gets up and walks around, hops in the window (even though we built him stairs), wags his tail when you pet him & purrs. You can see it in his eyes he's tired though.
This is very new to us, so really any advice/help/support from anyone having or had a sick pet.... And I'll of course be talking to his doctor, but it's always good to hear from actual people who have or are going through it also.

I share your sadness...
It is tough dealing with the thought of losing your pet, especially when you feel that you cannot do anything to help..
You should thought go to your vet and get some vet-approved medication such as those in here to get some recommendations:
