Calzone calories

How many calories in vegan calzone (spinach, vegan cheese, mushroom, red pepper, vegan pesto, tomato sauce)?

I’m guessing the veg will all be low cal, but the calzone itself is still a pizza (12”). Any estimates?

Try searching in the food database for something similar or check a chain restaurant menu online.

A Mellow Mushroom (US regional chain) has a veggie calzone they claim comes up to 1230 calories.

I would estimate anywhere between 1000 to 1500 calories depending on how big it is and how much cheese they put in it. The vegetables are low calorie, but the dough is calorie dense. Vegan cheese tends to be more calorie dense (and have more sodium) than regular cheese. Pesto is usually quite calorie dense. If it's as big as a 12" pizza, I'd be inclined to log it at 1500 calories.

I ate half of one for the first serving and then a third of one for the second serving. (Split the first one w my OH and the second with my mother and brother.) Yum!
