Hello, Where are my 40 and over ladies? I've noticed it is so hard to find what fits to loose weight. Currently, I am tracking my food on MFP and walking briskly at 3.5 in the a.m and at night. I could really use a good workout plan without paying a personal trainer. I've done Shaun T videos in the past but should I really try them this soon? Should I have some arm days, legs days etc? I am 225lbs. I am trying so hard to get to 200 by the end of June then get to at least 175-180 this summer.

I’m 39. I started lifting and boxing at 36 and it changed my life. Before then I’d mostly stuck to Pilates and hiking. Recently though I fell in love with Jazzercize- one of my lifting buddies teaches twice a week. I’m also lifting and boxing less as I’ve had some health stuff and it hurts to do right now.

I love Shaun T programs for when I’m home. They have the modifier which is great because you can build up to the tougher moves

At the end of the day though - just find something you enjoy that gets you moving. That’s the workout you’ll stick with and end up progressing with.

I was 43 when I started losing weight, 47 now 3.5 years later, been maintaining 140lb lost for almost 2 years now.
I would always recommend adding strength training in as soon as possible, not only will it help you to look good after losing the weight but it will help strengthen your bones, something that as slightly older ladies we suffer from its reduced bone density, strength training helps stop that. There is a link on here to some good programmes, I started with strong lifts 5x5 which seemed the simplest, and then moved on to another.

Along with the strength training I love high intensity interval style workouts and running and going to classes. I love being challenged in my exercise and am always looking for the next challenge. Yes I do have a personal trainer, but like I said I like being pushed and challenged.

I am 46, almost 47. I have lost 20 lbs and toned up the past 3 months. I hired a personal trainer and stuck to a strict clean healthy eating plan.

Remember losing weight is 80% nutrition. You need to focus on diet more than anything. Cut out the crap and sugar, drink lots of water, and get active and you will lose weight.

You will have better results in working out by focusing on a body part per day. Do weights first for 40 min then 20-30 min of cardio.

I do arms one day and chest one day, stomach and back 1 day, legs one day. My arms are lean and muscular for the 1st time ever.

    Good luck.
