Collodial silver is a substance that accumulates in your body and does absolutely nothing in terms of improving health or abating sickness. Also there's no chelation therapy as far as I know that can get it out of your system.
I've never ingested Collodial Silver but have great success in applying it topically to wounds on myself and our animals, including infections. It has always had rapid and positive results although I appreciate we are a very small test group
You want to put that stuff on yourself topically that's your choice. But please for the love of all things holy keep that stuff off your pets.7 -

Look very closely @ the inactive ingredients part; no aspartame in this particular product
Ya that's great...send her information about a drug that contains toxic ingredients like parabens and frikkin antifreeze! That might cure the sore throat and kill the rest of your body.
Also disregard the comment about salt water from the other poster...saltwater is actually a very good remedy for sore throats... https://www.healthline.com/health/cold-flu/sore-throat-natural-remedies#salt-water
P.S. from a fellow Canadian.....why on earth would you travel to the States without any form of healthcare? That's insane and could likely cost a small fortune. Find a doctor, get tested, get drugs if applicable before you need to be admitted to the hospital. "Keto" flu is common but it sounds like you've got more than that. If you had extended medical insurance from Canada, the costs may be covered as many of them have built in travel medical insurance.
Start taking a high quality multivitamin if you are not doing so already. Keto diets tend to remove fruits and vegetables from the menu so you are likely lacking a lot of vitamins and minerals.
I had travel Insurance for the first 6 months. But I married an American in January and my insurance ran out in Feb, so we are waiting for my Visas to come back sometime October/November and then I can get a Job with healthcare coverage. We have been looking around for something to pay into for until then but its outrageous. Maybe always having had free healthcare I can't fathom the thought of paying $500+ a month for benefits.
On a happier note, I am on the uphill climb. My throat still hurts to swallow, but it doesn't feel like its on fire anymore and my chest isn't as heavy
Thank you everyone for the responses. I love this community.
Cheers,
Rye~
It may be too late, but on the off chance your husband has never paid much attention to situations that didn't apply to him and so isn't aware of this, it's possible that your marriage is what's known as a qualifying event that would allow him to change his health insurance from "individual" to "individual + spouse" outside of the annual open enrollment period. So you could be covered on his health insurance.7 -
Walgreens has minute clinics that get you a healthcare provider and prescriptions pretty cheap without insurance. When my husband was waiting for his green card we used them a couple times.2

As others have mentioned, sipping teas may help soothe the throat. When I was young, we used 7-Up and/or Ginger Ale for that purpose too... I'm not sure if there is a diet version of those types of drinks without aspartame, but some sodas have sucralose/Splenda instead of aspartame. I'm sure hydration from whatever soothing liquids you drink will help too.
Even on a keto diet, you can have some small amounts of carbs and remain in ketosis. Unless you are taking well over the recommended amount, you can probably find cough medicine that has fewer carbs than your goal. Even if you go a bit over for the day, it is still worthwhile if it helps you heal.1 -
Gargle warm salt water, and/or lemon water. Neither of these are fixes but they should ease symptoms somewhat.
Actually, lemon and salt both make it worse. Salt dehydrates and can cause more coughing symptoms in the throat, and lemon is very harsh in general (it's an acid after all), and throwing that on a sore spot is not good. I think lemon used with a cold stems from combining lemon juice with honey and maybe ginger. Honey is a natural antiseptic, lemon is full of vitamin C. Ginger.. no idea. It certainly helps against nausea and is tasty. But lemon itself will likely make things worse.

I'd ask about your take on vaccination but that would be derailing so I won't.
OP, getting well enough to get back to my daily life would be up on my list way higher than maintaining ketosis. We got *kitten* to do, get better!8 -

okaaay....I respect your right to an opinion and perhaps you could respect mine, which is backed up by actual and multiple instances of experience.5 -
Errr, excuse me, Not all colloidal silver is created equal. My understanding from a BANT registered Nutritionist, UK, it acts much as an antibiotic does, with out the risk of antibiotic resistance because the minute, need a word smaller than minute, particles eliminate the unwanted bacteria before it can reproduce and become resistant. It can also be very helpful for someone with high candida/thrush issues.
Copper also works as an antibiotic/microbial which was why when used as door handles the rates of infection are dramatically reduced. It was for the antimicrobial properties that caused copper to be added to contraceptive coils to kill sperm. Unfortunately copper can build up in women particularly when used in this way or as dietary supplements. In my experience current western medicine does not realise the extent of the problem.
There are some circumstances when colloidal gold is also used, seen but not experienced.
Back to colloidal silver. I will only use one UK product, where the molecules are very, incredibly fine, I can't remember, off hand, the parts per million it provides, the particles are way smaller than those produced by "colloidal silver machines". The quality of colloidals vairies so very much, it is not even safe to say the expensive product is safest.
I would strongly suggest that more than 3 teaspoons full over a 24 hour period is more than sufficient, probably too much to for most situations, and then for only a few days at most for colds and flue like things, the infection can't replicate so goes away quicker. It is not necessary to ingest the stuff. Used as a simple spray is effective in most situations from cuts to nasal congestion. If I remember, the suggested ingested dose for deep seated thrush/candida after testing was 2x 5ml spoons a day for a period subject to testing.
Some of the articles I have read promote the use of 6 x 5 ml several times a day, that sort of consumption will cause the skin to blue.
I realise I will receive many woo indications for my views. I will say for those who react to antibiotics to the extent they are positively dangerouts, products of this kind can be incredibly helpful, even life saving. My arguement is, Each to their own. Know why you are taking any medications or alternative products like this, the only thing anyone can do, is to "do what is right for them", no one else matters. Keep an open mind.5 -
