Getting back to it.

Hi Folks. Last year, I dropped around 45 pounds, and frequented the gym 4 days per week. I got lean and was feeling really good, looking good, and life was grand. For reasons I cannot explain, I just got sick of it and suddenly stopped. I'm assuming massive burnout. Needless to say, I gained back all my weight. Sucks. So here I am, getting back in the saddle and I must say I can't believe how good I feel after only 2 weeks of being back in the gym. I have a long way to go to get back to where I was, but so far I am enjoying it. I would like to know how all of you avoid burnout, and what you do to get yourself motivated and not quit? My motivation right now is, I went to Jackson Hole Last March and skiing was a total *kitten*. I was so out of shape and out of breath. So that is my motivation right now. I know skiing for next year is a long way off but I feel it's never to early to get back in shape for next ski season. :)

That sounds like a great way to stay motivated. Are there sports on other seasons you could get excited about, like hiking, cycling, rowing, etc?

Not too many, as I live in south Texas. It is deathly hot here, and the humidity next month will be unbearable for the summer. I am going to buy a bike next fall for winter. We are moving to a private community with beautiful bike trails, so that will be added into the mix.
