This makes no sense

I typically eat dinner early- around 6pm and I don't snack after dinner. In the morning I'm never hungry until around 10 or 11 am. But, when I eat dinner late- like last night with a client at 8:30 pm I woke up ravenous at 6am. What the heck??

What did you have with the two meals? Maybe one had more calories than the other or the macro ratios were different.1

That happens to me sometimes, if I eat too much before bed especially without protein I will wake up super starving. It also happens when I'm bulking, I will reach a point where despite eating in a surplus I go through phases where I am frequently hungry.1

The more I eat, or should I say the closer the proximity of time I eat, the hungrier I am. When I cut back, I become less and less hungry over time.1
