I'm in Texas and we say "y'all." If it's a large group or we're including a group within a group, it's "all y'all." If something belongs to the group, it's "y'all's." And, yes, we really say these things.

Born and raised in new jersey, live in Philly. I say ya'll, with a sprinkling of yous. I never said yous guys and I lived 30 minutes from the city.

It's kind of transforming into yuhs. Yikes.

I'm from the midwest originally so I usually say You Guys, but since I've moved south a few years ago, Ya'll occasionally makes it into my vocabulary.

  • You guys it is...unless I'm tired or I have been talking to my "y''all" family, then it's "y'all."

I really hate that term: Y'all

I grew up in the Midwest saying you guys, now I have to say ya'll because I live in redneck country aka Southwest Virginia and they don't understand the term "you guys". The same with "pop" vs "soda"...

I'm in the you guys zone but as an honorary Texan from going to college within the state of Texas, I mightily prefer y'all (or as you may or may not know, the plural is "all y'all"!) ;)

Born in Wisconsin (solid you guys territory), moved to Cincinnati (not quite y'all territory), spent most of my life in Columbus (you guys). I still say you guys. However, there are times when I want to say you all, and I abbreviate it y'all. I think it's an elegant contraction that just rolls off your tongue. Try it sometime.

You guys, according to the map. But due to problems I often have with speech due to Chronic Migraines, I tend to say Y'all more often. After moving south (To alabama and florida) for a while, it kinda grew on me.

We did have one an formal plural form of you. But for some reason we ditched it some time ago. Now people look at you funny if you bust it out.

The word you are looking for is ye. As in "Where are ye going?" when addressing a group of people.

It will always be "you guys" for me, and "pop".... It's so weird to visit other parts of the country and hear "y'all" and "soda".... i mean, doesn't that convey soda water? Lol, so weird...
